Hotel Villa Patriarca is in the heart of an area which is full of history, art and culture: a few kilometres from Venice, Treviso and Padova and extremely close to the
Brenta Riviera, with its splendid
Venetian Villas forms a priceless cultural heritage.
Many visitors remain fascinated by the history of this area: around the XVIII century, the
Venetian nobles chose the Riviera as their holiday area, initiating the construction of some spectacular villas, surrounded by immense parks. The most famous architects of that period were called upon, and after which, the villas were decorated with frescos by masters of the art, such as
Palladio and
Tintoretto. Among more than 40 villas that can still be admired in the area, we would like to mention
Villa Foscari known as "La Malcontenta",
Villa Contarini Pisani and
Villa Widmann Rezzonico Foscari.
Hotel Villa Patriarca is also situated within a stroll of the historic center of the gracious city of
Mirano, where one can visit
Villa Morosini and
Villa Erizzo-Belvedere.
The guests at Villa Patriarca can profit from the strategic position of the hotel to visit three very interesting cities from an economic, artistic and cultural point of view:
Padova,
Treviso and, above all,
Venice. The
hotel is in fact just a few kilometres from this unique city: the no. 7 and "Venezia" buses stop right in front of Villa Patriarca every 15 minutes and in 20 minutes links the hotel with the beautiful lagoon city. In a day, you can also reach
Cortina d'Ampezzo and the splendid Dolomites, Lake Garda and the beaches of the Adriatic coast.
From a
natural aspect, all the areas surrounding the hotel offer the possibility for
tours and excursions. Bicycle lovers can follow the numerous naturalist cycling itineraries with clearly marked signs along the roads, admiring the natural oasis of the barene (silt banks) of the
Lagoon, which are rich in the typical flora and fauna of the area. Another possibility is that of taking a water tour on a tourist boat, going up the Brenta river which connects Venice to Padova, where some of the most splendid Venetian Villas are located.
